The kit ships with three M14 backing plates: 1.2-inch, 2-inch and 3-inch. The M14 thread is the standard for professional rotary polishers, so you can also fit compatible third-party backing plates if you want a different size or profile.
How many pads come in the kit?
Thirty-six pads are included in the EP803K kit, spread across the different backing plate sizes supplied. This gives you a full range of cut and finishing pads to work with straight out of the box.
What surfaces can I use the EP803K on?
The EP803K is suited to any painted surface - clear coat, single-stage paint, wrapped panels - as well as headlight lenses and gel-coat on boats. Pad and compound selection determines aggression, not the machine itself. Use a softer pad and light polish for paint-correction finishing, or a harder cutting pad with a compound for deeper swirl removal.
Is this machine suitable for use on PPF or vinyl wrap?
Yes, with care. Keep speeds at the lower end of the range (700-1200RPM) and use a soft finishing pad with a gentle product. The low start speed of 700RPM makes it easier to control heat build-up on PPF and vinyl than machines that start higher. Work in short passes and check the film regularly.
