What makes the Micron Suede different from a standard microfibre cloth?
The Micron Suede uses a suede-weave microfibre rather than a terry or waffle weave. This structure absorbs less product per pass, which means your ceramic or nano coating spreads in a thinner, more uniform film rather than being soaked up by the cloth. Less waste, more consistent results.
Can I use these cloths on paint, glass, plastic trim and PPF?
Yes. The edgeless, laser-cut construction means there are no hard edges, stitching or labels that could scratch delicate surfaces. They are suitable for paint, glass, trim and PPF - any surface you are applying a ceramic or nano treatment to.
How much product should I apply to the cloth before starting?
Apply a small number of drops directly to the cloth or the applicator block you are using alongside it. The suede weave is intentionally low-absorption, so you need less than you would with a standard microfibre. Start conservatively and add more as needed to avoid high spots.
Can I reuse a cloth that has been used to apply a ceramic coating?
Innovacar recommends against reusing cloths that have been used with ceramic or nanotechnological coatings. The cured product in the fibres can create hard spots that may scratch the next panel. Treat each coating application as a single use.
How do I wash the Micron Suede cloths?
If washing is needed, use SM Micron Shampoo and machine wash at a maximum of 30°C. Do not mix fabric types in the same wash, do not use fabric softener, do not use bleach, do not tumble dry and do not iron the cloths. Fabric softener in particular alters the microfibre's absorption properties.
What does the light grey colour add?
The light grey makes it easy to see exactly how much coating product is on the cloth at any point. You can tell at a glance whether you have applied too much, too little or whether the cloth is running dry - useful when working with expensive ceramic coatings where every drop counts.
How should I store the cloths between uses?
The pack comes in a resealable zip bag designed for exactly this purpose. Once you have taken out the cloths you need, seal the bag to keep the remaining ones away from dust, fallout and airborne contamination. Do not store them near polishing pads or compounds.
Can I use the Micron Suede with coating boosters or spray sealants as well as full ceramic coatings?
Yes. While the cloth is engineered with professional ceramic and nano coatings in mind, the same low-absorption suede weave makes it suitable for spray sealants, coating boosters and SiO2 spray toppers. The consistent spread you get is just as valuable with those products.
