CXP12-50LI: 12V Cordless Mini Polisher Kit- Status Status Orbital Polisher Detailer South Africa.

Cordless Freedom

Three modes. One compact machine. No cord dragging.

The CXP12 switches between a 12mm random orbital for genuine paint correction, a 3mm orbital for refining and tight spots, and a straight rotary mode for applying protection - all without reaching for a wall socket. At 1kg it sits comfortably in one hand across a full panel or in an engine bay.

Why the CXP12

Spec that earns its place in the kit bag

Designed for detailers who work in tight spaces and need real versatility.

  • Variable Speed Control

2000-5500 rpm with soft start keeps you in control on delicate clear coats and thin paint.

  • Lock-On Switch

Sustained polishing without hand fatigue, useful across larger panels or extended correction sessions.

  • Compact at 1kg

Light enough to work in door shuts, mirrors, bumper corners and interior surfaces without arm strain.

  • Dual Battery System

Two 2Ah Li-Ion cells included so one charges while the other runs - no forced breaks mid-job.

How It Stacks Up

CXP12 vs. a typical corded mini polisher

Corded mini polishers have their place, but once you have worked cordless on a mobile job or in a tight bay, going back is frustrating. Here is where the CXP12 differs from a standard corded equivalent in the same size class.

Built for the Whole Job

34 pads, two batteries, one case.

Most cordless polishers arrive bare and expect you to source consumables separately. The CXP12 kit ships with 34 pads spanning sponge, faux-wool and brush types across both pad sizes, plus a second battery so you are not clock-watching mid-correction. The fabric carry case means everything stays sorted between mobile jobs.

Questions

Frequently asked

What are the three polishing modes and when do I use each?

The 12mm random orbital is your main correction mode - great for removing swirl marks, light scratches and holograms across larger panels. The 3mm random orbital cuts the throw down for gentler refining or finishing passes, and for tight spots where a wider orbit would catch edges. Simple rotation turns the pad into a direct rotary action, which you can use for applying waxes or sealants by hand speed, or for heavier spot work. Swapping between modes is done by fitting the appropriate counterweight and selecting the setting on the tool.

What pad sizes does the CXP12 take?

The machine accepts 38mm and 50mm backing pads. Both sizes are included in the kit. The 50mm backing pad is the more common choice for general panel work, while the 38mm is useful in tighter areas around badges, mirrors and bodywork contours. The kit ships with sponge, faux-wool and brush pads across the two sizes.

How long does the battery last on a charge?

Battery runtime depends on the speed setting and the resistance of the work - heavier correction at higher rpm will drain the 2Ah cell faster than a light finishing pass. The kit includes two Li-Ion 12V 2Ah batteries and a charger, so you can rotate them and maintain a continuous workflow without downtime. The charge level indicator on the tool lets you know when to swap.

Is this suitable for paint correction on dark or black paint?

Yes. At 3mm orbital or with a finishing pad on the 12mm setting the CXP12 is well suited to refining dark paint where swirl marks show most. The variable speed range (2000-5500 rpm) and soft start give you the control needed to work without introducing new holograms. Match the pad and compound carefully - use a light finishing pad with a fine polish for the last pass on black paint.

Can I use this on surfaces other than paint?

The mini format and low-throw orbital modes make it practical for leather seats and bolsters, plastic interior trim, alloy wheels, glass (with an appropriate pad), and headlight lenses. The brush pads included in the kit are particularly useful for textured plastics and surfaces that need agitation rather than abrasion.

What compounds and polishes pair well with this machine?

Because of its compact size and 12V power output, the CXP12 works best with light to medium-cut compounds and finishing polishes. Heavy single-stage correction compounds designed for 15mm+ DA machines may exceed what the tool can efficiently work. For spot correction on swirls and light scratches, a medium-cut polish on a sponge or faux-wool pad is a solid starting point. Finish with a fine polish on a foam pad to refine the surface before sealing.

Can I layer a ceramic coating or sealant after polishing with this machine?

Absolutely. After your correction and finishing passes, decontaminate the surface and apply your chosen ceramic coating, sealant or wax as normal. The machine itself has no bearing on coating adhesion - what matters is that the paint surface is properly decontaminated and free of oils before you apply any protection. The included sponge pads can also be used at low speed for spreading waxes and sealants evenly.

What is included in the kit and how does it arrive?

The kit includes two Li-Ion 12V 2Ah batteries, a charger, a 38mm backing pad, a 50mm backing pad, counterweights for both the 12mm and 3mm orbit settings, an extension rod, a wrench, 20 sponge polishing pads, 12 faux-wool pads, 2 brush pads, and a fabric carry case to keep everything organised. Everything arrives ready to use out of the box.
