What surfaces can the CLC002 be applied to?
The CLC002 is designed primarily for painted bodywork but is also suitable for glass and wheels. Avoid application on raw rubber, matte finishes or unprepared plastic trim unless you have tested in an inconspicuous area first.
Does the paint need to be corrected before applying this coating?
Yes. Ceramic coatings lock in whatever is underneath them, so the surface must be washed, decontaminated and polished to your desired finish before you apply. Any swirl marks, scratches or water spots present at the time of application will be sealed in.
How long does the coating need to flash before buffing?
Flash time is approximately 1-3 minutes depending on ambient temperature and humidity. In hotter or more humid conditions it will flash faster. Work one panel at a time and buff off with a clean, dry microfibre cloth before the coating hazes too heavily.
How long is the cure time, and what should I avoid during curing?
Allow 24-48 hours for the coating to cure fully. During this period keep the vehicle dry and avoid rain, washing, bird droppings and direct chemical contact. The coating continues to harden further over the following days.
How durable is the CLC002 and what affects longevity?
The CLC002 is rated for 3-5 years. Actual longevity depends on how well the surface was prepared, your local environment, how often the car is washed and whether you maintain the coating with a compatible ceramic booster or spray sealant between washes.
How much product does a 30ml bottle cover?
A 30ml bottle is sufficient for a full vehicle application in one coat. Only a few drops are needed per applicator block pass, so avoid over-applying - thin, even layers bond better and are easier to buff.
Can I apply a second coat to increase protection?
A second coat can be added after the first coat has cured, typically after 24 hours. Allow the initial coat to reach a firm state before layering. A second coat adds depth and can increase durability, though proper surface prep and application remain the biggest factors in performance.
What applicator should I use, and can I apply by machine?
The CLC002 is applied by hand using a suede applicator block. Machine application is not recommended for this type of ceramic coating - hand application gives you control over the amount of product and the spread pattern, which matters for an even, streak-free cure.
