What does a medium-grade clay bar remove that washing cannot?
Washing removes loose dirt and grime. A clay bar physically shears off bonded contaminants that are embedded in or stuck to the clear coat surface, including industrial fallout, rail dust, brake dust, road tar, paint overspray and tree sap mist. After claying, the paint will feel noticeably smoother under your fingertips.
Is this clay bar safe on all clear coats?
The medium-grade formulation is safe on the vast majority of factory and aftermarket clear coats when used with adequate lubrication. If you are working on a particularly thin, soft or heavily corrected clear coat, work a small test area first. Always keep the surface well-lubricated throughout to prevent marring.
What surfaces can I use this clay bar on?
This clay bar is designed for painted panels, glass, and smooth exterior surfaces. It is particularly useful on windscreens and side glass to remove bonded fallout and water spot minerals that reduce visibility and make glass sealants bond less effectively. What lubricant should I use with this clay bar?

How do I know when to fold the clay and when to stop using it?
As the clay picks up contamination its face becomes grey or discoloured. Fold the bar to expose a fresh face and continue. When you run out of clean faces, or when the clay becomes too small and flat to hold safely, it is time to replace it. A contaminated face dragged over paint can leave light scratches.
Does claying leave marring that needs to be polished out?

Claying removes bonded contaminants that a wash alone leaves behind, giving the coating a clean, smooth substrate to bond to. For coating prep, combine claying with an iron fallout remover and a panel wipe for the best adhesion result.
