Carpet and seat fabric on a client's bakkie were in a rough state - pet hair, mud, the lot. Mixed at 1:30, agitated with a stiff brush, extracted and the difference was night and day. Goes a long way at that dilution too.

Impact vs. Generic APC
What sets Impact apart
Not all all-purpose cleaners are built the same. Here is how Impact stacks up against a typical budget APC on the factors that matter on a real detail job.
| Feature | DetailerSA | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Ultra-concentrated (dilutes to 1:60) | Yes | No |
| Removes waxes and sealants for panel prep | Yes | No |
| Eco-friendly, non-corrosive formula | Yes | No |
| Compatible with extractors and tornado machines | Yes | Yes |
| Safe on automotive paint | Yes | Yes |
| Safe for use on plastics and leather | No | No |
Professional Grade Chemistry
Eco-friendly doesn't mean gentle on grease
Impact's non-corrosive, eco-friendly formula is tough enough to strip wax residue and baked-on insect impacts, but safe enough to use on paint, upholstery and fabrics - giving professional detailers a single APC they can reach for across the whole job.
Reviews
What our customers say
Solid degreaser for wheel wells and engine bays. At 1:10 it clears grease buildup without a second pass. Knocked it to four stars only because you need to keep it away from any plastic trim - worth reading the instructions first.
Questions
Frequently asked
What dilution should I use for heavily soiled wheels or an engine bay?
Use a 1:1 ratio for the worst contamination - caked grease, heavy brake dust or a very dirty engine bay. Step down to 1:10 for general heavy-duty cleaning once the worst is off.
Can I use Impact on automotive paint?
Yes. At the appropriate dilution it works well as a pre-wash or decon step on painted surfaces. Be aware that at higher concentrations it will strip existing waxes and sealants, so factor that into your process if you have protection you want to keep.
Is it safe on all wheel types, including alloys and chrome?
Impact is listed as safe on wheels and chrome. It is non-corrosive, but as with any cleaner, rinse thoroughly and avoid letting it dwell for extended periods, especially on bare or polished metal surfaces.
Can I use it on leather seats or interior plastics?
No. Vonixx specifically states Impact is not recommended for use on leather seats or interior and exterior plastics. Use a product formulated for those surfaces instead.
What dilution is right for carpets and upholstery?
The moderate cleaning ratio of 1:30 is a good starting point for fabrics and upholstery. For maintenance-level fabric cleaning, 1:50 works well. After agitating with a soft brush, extract with a wet-vac and allow to dry fully before use.
Can I run Impact through a tornado machine or extractor?
Yes. Vonixx recommends up to 1:20 for tornado machines and up to 1:60 for water extractors. Always confirm your machine's compatibility with alkaline cleaners before use.
Do I need to strip Impact off before applying a ceramic coating or paint sealant?
At higher dilutions Impact actively removes waxes and sealants, which makes it useful as a panel prep step before correction or coating. After use, rinse the surface well and confirm it is clean and residue-free before applying any coating or sealant.
How much product does 1.5L realistically give me?
At a 1:30 dilution for general cleaning, 1.5L of concentrate yields 45 litres of ready-to-use solution. At 1:10 for heavy-duty work you get 15 litres. The concentrate stretches significantly when you dial the ratio to suit the task.
