Can Uno Advanced be used as a stand-alone product, or does it need a separate sealant?
It works as a complete stand-alone solution. The nano protection built into the formula means you get light correction, gloss enhancement and durable protection all in one step - no separate sealant required. That said, it also works perfectly as a finishing step after heavier compounding.
What surfaces is Uno Advanced safe to use on?
Uno Advanced is safe on any non-porous surface, including single-stage paint, clear coat finishes, varnishes, gelcoat, powder coat and aluminium. It is not recommended for use on porous or unfinished surfaces.
What machine types are compatible with Uno Advanced?
It is universally compatible with all machine movement types - dual-action, forced-rotation and rotary polishers. It can also be applied by hand for smaller areas or touch-up work.
Which pads does Rupes recommend for Uno Advanced?
For light correction and gloss enhancement, Rupes recommends the D-A Ultra-Fine Foam Pad or the D-A Ultra-Fine Microfibre Pad. If you need more defect removal, step up to the D-A Medium Wool Pad for increased cut without switching to a heavier compound.
What is the cure time, and do I need to keep the car dry afterwards?
Uno Advanced cures over a period of 4 hours after application. During this window, keep the surface away from water and moisture to allow the nano protection layer to fully bond. After the 4-hour cure, the protection is set.
How long does the protection from Uno Advanced last?
The nano protection layer is rated to last up to 12 months with normal exposure and care. Longevity will vary depending on washing frequency, environmental conditions and surface preparation before application.
Can Uno Advanced be layered over a ceramic coating or used under one?
Uno Advanced is best used as your finishing and protection step on bare or corrected paint. If you plan to apply a ceramic coating after, use Uno Advanced only for correction and then IPA-wipe the surface before coating - its built-in protection layer may affect ceramic bonding. As a stand-alone protectant it is not designed to be layered under ceramic.
Why does the bottle need to be shaken before use?
The micro-abrasive particles and nano protection components in Uno Advanced can separate in the bottle when it sits. Shaking before first use and before reloading your pad each time ensures the formula is properly mixed and you get consistent cut and protection performance across the whole panel.
