Proper Decon
Strip bonded contamination before it costs you a correction
Brake dust, tar and tree resins bond to clear coat at a microscopic level - a wash mitt won't touch them. The Work Stuff Spot Clay Bar shears them cleanly off the surface, leaving paint genuinely smooth and properly prepared for whatever protection you apply next.
Why It Works
Medium-grade performance on every contamination type
Effective enough to lift stubborn deposits, gentle enough for all paint types.
-
Medium-Grade Formula
Cuts through brake dust, tar and tree resins without over-aggressively stripping paint protection.
-
All Paint Types
Gentle enough for single-stage, base-coat clear-coat, and freshly corrected paintwork.
-
High Plasticity
Stays pliable and easy to flatten, fold and re-mould throughout an entire detailing session.
-
Protection-Ready Surface
Leaves paint smooth and contaminant-free so wax, sealant or ceramic coatings bond properly.

Built to Last
Multiple sessions from a single bar

Questions
Frequently asked
What lubricant should I use with the Spot Clay Bar?
A dedicated clay lubricant or quick detailer works best. You can also use a diluted car shampoo solution in a pinch. The surface must be well lubricated at all times - never run the clay dry, as this risks marring the paint.
Is the Spot Clay Bar safe on wrapped or PPF-covered vehicles?
Work Stuff describes it as safe for all paint types, but exercise extra caution on vinyl wraps and PPF. Use plenty of lubricant, light pressure, and straight passes. If in doubt, test on a small, inconspicuous area first and check the wrap or film manufacturer's recommendations.
Can I use it on glass, wheels and trim?
Yes - clay bars are highly effective at removing bonded fallout and water spots from glass. On wheels, they pick up embedded brake dust and metallic contamination well. On bare plastic trim, results vary and the risk of marring is higher, so apply with caution and plenty of lube.
How do I know when to fold the clay?
Fold the clay as soon as the working face looks visibly dirty or grey from lifted contamination. Continuing on a dirty face can deposit contaminants back onto the paint or cause light scratching. Fold, flatten and work a fresh face after every panel or sooner if contamination is heavy.
How much of the bar do I use per session?
For a full decon of a medium-sized car, most detailers work with a flattened piece roughly the size of their palm. The 100g bar is suited to spot treatments and smaller jobs; the 200g bar is the better choice for regular, full-vehicle decontamination sessions.
Can the Spot Clay Bar replace iron fallout remover?
They are complementary, not interchangeable. An iron fallout remover chemically dissolves ferrous particles before you clay. Running the clay after a chemical decon step is the most thorough approach - the clay then lifts any residual bonded contamination the chemical loosened. You can clay without chemical decon, but results on heavily contaminated paint are better when you do both.
How do I store the clay bar between uses?
Rinse it under clean water after use, pat it dry, and return it to the supplied plastic storage box. Keep the box out of direct sunlight and away from heat - the clay can dry out and become brittle if stored improperly. Stored correctly, one bar will last multiple detailing sessions.
What should I do after claying - can I apply a coating or wax straight away?
Yes, and this is exactly the right time to do it. After claying, the paint surface is smooth and free of bonded contamination, which means waxes, sealants, and ceramic coatings bond more effectively and last longer. Wipe the panel down with an IPA panel wipe first to remove any lubricant residue, then apply your chosen protection product.
