How do I apply SP1 Prewash?
Dilute SP1 in a foam lance or pump sprayer and apply it to a cool, dry vehicle starting from the bottom up. Let the foam dwell on the surface for 3 to 5 minutes so the enzymes can break down organic soiling, then rinse off thoroughly with a pressure washer. No agitation needed for lightly to moderately soiled vehicles.
What dilution ratio should I use?
Dilution depends on the level of soiling and your equipment. For a foam lance, a typical starting ratio is 1:5 to 1:10 (SP1 to water). For heavily soiled vehicles or stubborn traffic film, use a stronger mix. As the product is concentrated, start on the lower dilution and adjust based on the results you see.
Is SP1 safe on ceramic coatings and PPF?
Yes. Despite the 11.5 pH, Innovacar specifically developed SP1 to be safe on applied nanotechnologies, including ceramic coatings, graphene coatings and PPF. It will not strip or degrade a correctly cured coating when used as directed. It is actually an ideal maintenance prewash to keep coated vehicles clean without putting unnecessary mechanical stress on the surface.
Can I use SP1 on wheels, wheel arches and underbody panels?
Yes. SP1 works well on wheels, arches and lower panels where traffic film and grease accumulate most. For heavily contaminated brake dust or iron fallout, pair it with a dedicated iron remover after the SP1 rinse for a full decon.
What makes the enzyme formula different from a standard alkaline prewash?
Standard alkaline prewashes rely purely on pH to emulsify dirt. SP1's patent-protected enzymes physically break down organic molecules - soil, insects, pollen, grease - and can act multiple times on the same particles. This gives a deeper clean at a given dilution without needing extreme pH levels or added sodium hydroxide.
How long should I leave SP1 on the paint?
A dwell time of 3 to 5 minutes is typical. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface - work in the shade or on a cool panel. On heavily soiled vehicles you can apply a second pass before rinsing. Always rinse completely before moving to the contact wash stage.
Does SP1 replace a full decontamination step?
SP1 excels at removing organic contamination - traffic film, bugs, bird deposits, pollen and light grease. For mineral deposits, iron fallout and tar spots, you will still need a dedicated iron remover and tar remover in your decon process. Think of SP1 as stage one of a thorough decon, not a standalone solution for all contamination types.
What sizes is SP1 available in?
