Three passes on a heavily oxidised Corolla bonnet and it was looking like new paint. The compound breaks down cleanly so the residue wipes off without effort. Solid cut, way less work than the generic stuff I was using before.
Wasn't expecting a compound to refine as well as this one does. Still needed a light polish after, but the surface was already smooth enough that one pass with a finishing pad sorted it. Good product for the price point.

D-A Coarse is formulated for dual-action (DA) and random-orbital polishers, and is equally effective on rotary machines. RUPES BigFoot polishers are the natural pairing, but any professional-grade DA or rotary will work. Match the machine speed and pad type to the severity of the defects you are correcting.
For the deepest correction, use a coarse foam cutting pad or a wool cutting pad. Once the heavy defects are removed, switch to a medium foam polishing pad with a finer polish to refine the finish before applying any protection.
Prime your cutting pad with a small amount of compound, then apply 4-5 pea-sized dots directly onto the panel. Spread at low speed before increasing to your working speed. Work the compound until it begins to break down and clear, then wipe residue with a clean microfibre cloth. Work in manageable panel sections to prevent the product drying out before you can work it.
D-A Coarse is designed for use on clear-coated and single-stage paint finishes. It is a heavy-cut compound, so always test on an inconspicuous area first, particularly on thin or soft clear coats. It is not recommended for use directly on PPF or vinyl wraps without confirming suitability with the film manufacturer.
D-A Coarse targets heavy swirl marks, deep scratch holograms, moderate to severe oxidation, buffer trails and water-spot etching. For very fine swirls or light marring, a medium compound or finishing polish will be more appropriate and will leave less refining work afterwards.
D-A Coarse is a cutting compound first, so it will leave some light haze or micro-marring depending on your pad choice and machine settings. A follow-up step with a medium or finishing polish, such as RUPES D-A Fine or D-A Polishing, is recommended before applying a ceramic coating, paint sealant or wax to ensure a fully corrected, high-gloss base.
Start conservatively. Four to five pea-sized drops is typically enough for a standard bonnet or door panel. Over-application does not improve cut and makes residue harder to remove. You can always add more product if the compound clears before the defects are fully removed.
