How do I apply Gtechniq QD Quick Detailer?
Shake the bottle well before use. Spray QD directly onto the surface or onto a clean MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth, then buff off with a second, dry MF1. Work one panel at a time to avoid the product drying before you buff.
Which surfaces can I use QD on?
QD is designed for use on your car's painted bodywork, plastic trim and wheels. It is safe across all these surfaces and will not stain or damage plastic or rubber.
Is QD compatible with Gtechniq ceramic coatings?
Yes, QD is fully compatible with all Gtechniq coatings. It will not strip or compromise an existing coating and can be used as a regular maintenance spray on top of products like Crystal Serum Ultra or EXO.
Can I layer QD to build up protection?
Yes. QD can be layered to incrementally boost gloss, slickness and durability on the surface. Simply apply, buff off fully, and repeat if you want an extra hit of gloss or protection.
Does QD need any flash or cure time?
No extended flash or cure time is needed. Spray on and buff off immediately with a clean microfibre. There is no need to wait before driving or exposing the vehicle to the elements.
What kind of finish does QD leave?
QD leaves a flawless, streak-free, high-gloss finish. It also imparts a degree of slickness to the surface, which helps repel dust and light contamination between proper washes.
Can I use QD on glass?
The product is specified for bodywork, plastic and wheels. For glass surfaces, Gtechniq's dedicated glass products such as G1 ClearVision Smart Glass are the better choice to avoid smearing.
Which microfibre cloths work best with QD?
Gtechniq recommends their own MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth. Use one cloth to apply and a second, clean and dry MF1 to buff off. This two-cloth method prevents smearing and gives the cleanest finish.
