A standard trigger sprayer only atomises liquid on the pull stroke. The Super Double Action pump sprays on both the press and the release, which roughly doubles the output per trigger cycle. On a heavy degreasing job - like an engine bay or a set of heavily soiled arches - this means less hand fatigue and faster coverage.

Twist the nozzle head to dial in the spray pattern. At one end you get a fine mist suitable for even distribution over large panels or interior surfaces. The indicator lets you see the approximate fill level through the tank wall without removing the pump head. It is useful for dosing diluted concentrates - you can fill to a marked line with water, add concentrate, and visually confirm you are in the right range. For precise dilution ratios, a measuring cylinder is still more accurate, but for everyday workshop use the indicator is a genuine convenience.

That is what the HD (Heavy Duty) designation is for. The EPDM seals and reinforced pump mechanism are built for repeated exposure to aggressive chemistry in workshop environments. Yes - an alkaline all-purpose cleaner diluted in water is well within the chemical compatibility of this sprayer. It works well for applying diluted APC to door shuts, wheel arches and engine bays as a trigger-spray option rather than a foam lance. It is not a foam cannon and will not produce thick foam, but for direct application of diluted alkaline cleaners it is a solid choice.

Pump clean water through the nozzle until the output runs clear, then spray out the remaining water and store with the pump head loosened slightly to relieve pressure on the seals. If you are switching from a heavy-duty degreaser to a lighter product, a few full pumps of water is usually sufficient. Avoid mixing alkaline and acidic products in the same sprayer.

For targeted application - spraying diluted APC onto specific panels, degreasing an engine bay or treating wheel arches - 0.5L is practical because it keeps the bottle light and manoeuvrable. If you are covering a full vehicle with a traffic-film cleaner you will likely refill once.
