L1 Leather Guard is formulated for modern automotive leather - the type treated with synthetic fat liquors common in most contemporary vehicles. It works well on seats, steering wheels, centre consoles and door panels. It is not designed as a traditional leather conditioner and should not be expected to soften stiff or dried-out untreated hides.
Does L1 work on perforated or stitched leather?
Yes. Apply sparingly around perforations and use a soft-bristled brush to work the product out of stitch grooves before it dries. Wipe away any excess with an MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth to keep the finish even.
How do I prepare the leather before applying L1?
Thoroughly clean the leather with Gtechniq L2 Leather Cleaner or I2 Tri-Clean and allow the surface to dry completely before application. Starting on contaminated leather will trap dirt under the coating and reduce durability.
How long does L1 take to dry before I can use the car?
