Frequently asked
What surfaces can I use Wash Mist on?
Wash Mist is designed for most interior surfaces including hard plastics, vinyl, rubber trim, door cards, dashboards and fabric upholstery. Avoid spraying directly onto screens, instrument clusters or open speaker grilles - apply to a microfibre cloth first instead.
Can I use it on fabric seats and headliners?
Yes, it handles light soiling on fabric seats, seat bolsters and headliners well. Work in small sections, use a clean microfibre or soft brush to agitate gently, then blot and allow to dry fully. It is not formulated for heavy stain extraction - for deep staining, a dedicated fabric cleaner with agitation is a better fit.
Is Wash Mist safe on leather?
Soft99 recommends Wash Mist for fabric and hard interior surfaces. For leather seats and leather-wrapped trim, a pH-neutral leather cleaner is the safer choice so you protect the grain and any existing conditioner in the material.
How quickly does it dry?
The formula is designed to flash off quickly on hard surfaces with minimal residue left behind. On fabric it takes a little longer - allow five to ten minutes before assessing whether a second pass is needed, and leave the cabin ventilated until fully dry.
Do I dilute Wash Mist or use it straight from the bottle?
Wash Mist is ready to use straight from the bottle - no dilution needed. The trigger spray gives you enough control to apply lightly for a quick wipe-down or a little more generously for more stubborn grime.
Will it strip a dashboard coating or dressing I have already applied?
Used correctly - a light mist and a wipe rather than soaking - it should not strip a cured dressing or coating on plastic trim. If you have a particularly thin or fresh dressing, use a cloth rather than spraying directly onto the surface to be safe.
Can I use a microfibre towel or do I need a specific applicator?
A clean, soft microfibre cloth is the recommended tool. For textured plastics with deeper grain, a soft detailing brush or microfibre applicator pad helps get into the texture. Avoid abrasive cloths or rough sponges on gloss plastic trim.
How often should I use Wash Mist?
It is designed for regular maintenance use. Most detailers reach for it weekly or fortnightly to keep the cabin presentable between deeper cleans. Because it is gentle and residue-free, frequent use does not build up or leave a sticky film.
