Product Description
Frequently asked
What types of stains does this product remove?
It's formulated for petroleum-based and organic contamination - tar spots, road oil, insect residue, heavy traffic film, and similar stubborn body-panel staining that survives a normal wash. It's not a fallout remover; for iron contamination you'd want a dedicated iron decon product alongside it.
Is it safe on clear coat and modern paint finishes?
Yes, when used as directed. Apply to a cool, out-of-direct-sun panel, keep the dwell time short, and wipe off cleanly with a fresh microfibre. Avoid letting it dry on the surface or sit too long on sensitive finishes like matte or satin wrap.
Can I use it on glass, wheels, or plastic trim?
It's designed primarily for painted body panels. Exercise caution on bare aluminium wheels or bare metal surfaces. Avoid contact with rubber seals and porous uncoated plastics. For glass contamination, a dedicated glass cleaner or polish is a better fit.
How long should I leave it to dwell?
A short dwell of around one to two minutes is typically enough for most staining. For heavier deposits you can extend slightly, but don't allow the product to dry on the panel. Work in sections on cooler surfaces and in the shade where possible.
Do I need to wash the car first before applying?
Yes. Start with a thorough wash to remove loose dirt. Applying directly over grit risks scratching the paint when you wipe off the product. Once the panel is clean and wet staining is still visible, that's when the Stain Cleaner Strong Type does its job.
Can I use this before applying a ceramic coating or paint protection film?
Absolutely - this is one of its best use cases. Running a stain remover over the panels as part of your decon stage before correction or ceramic application ensures the surface is completely free of hydrocarbon contamination, giving the coating a clean substrate to bond to.
Does it need to be rinsed off, or just wiped?
Wipe off thoroughly with a clean microfibre and then rinse the panel with water. If you're heading straight into polishing or coating prep, follow up with an IPA wipe-down to ensure no residue is left behind.
How much product do I need per session?
Because this is a targeted spot treatment rather than a full-panel spray, a little goes a long way. Apply only to the affected areas rather than blanketing whole panels. A single bottle will cover multiple decon sessions for a standard-sized vehicle if used with precision.
