Frequently asked
How do I apply Glaco Roll On Instant Dry?
Clean and degrease the glass thoroughly first - a dedicated glass cleaner or an IPA wipe works well. Roll the ball applicator across the glass in straight, overlapping passes to deposit an even layer of product. Leave it for one to two minutes, then wipe off with a clean, dry microfibre cloth before it hazes too hard. Buff to a clear finish.
Does it work on all car glass surfaces?
Yes. Glaco Roll On Instant Dry is safe on all automotive glass including windscreens, side windows, rear windows, and mirrors. Avoid applying it to plastic panels, painted surfaces, or rubber trim - keep it strictly on glass.
What does 'instant dry' mean in practice?
It means the product dries down much faster than a traditional Glaco or glass sealant that requires a long flash or cure window. In normal conditions you can wipe it off within a minute or two of application. You do not need to leave it overnight or park the car to cure - it is ready to drive shortly after buffing off.
How long does the water repellent effect last?
Durability depends on how thoroughly the glass was prepared before application and how much rain, washing, and wiper use the car sees. On a well-prepped windscreen you can expect several months of solid beading and sheeting. Top up when you notice water no longer sheeting cleanly at highway speeds.
Can I use this with wiper blades?
Yes, but make sure the product is fully cured and buffed before running the wipers. Any residue left on the glass can cause wiper chatter or smearing. If you experience judder after application, run the wipers with water a few times and allow a short settling period - this usually resolves itself quickly.
Should I use this on a freshly decontaminated windscreen?
Absolutely - decon before you seal is the right order. Use a fallout or iron remover on the glass if needed, follow with a clay bar or glass-specific clay mitt to remove bonded contamination, then clean with IPA or a glass cleaner, and apply Glaco Roll On Instant Dry while the surface is clean and porous. Prep quality directly affects how long the hydrophobic effect lasts.
Can I layer it over an existing glass coating or sealant?
You can top up over a faded or diminished existing layer to restore the repellent effect. For the best result when starting fresh, strip any old product off with an IPA or dedicated glass cleaner first so the new coat bonds to bare glass rather than a degraded layer.
Does the roll-on applicator run out before the bottle is empty?
The ball applicator feeds directly from the bottle, so product continues to flow as long as there is liquid inside. If the ball feels dry during use, simply tip the bottle at a slightly steeper angle or give it a gentle squeeze. There is no separate pad or sponge to replace.
