Frequently asked
How do I apply Glaco QAD?
Start with clean, dry glass - any water, grease or residue will interfere with adhesion. Apply the product directly to the built-in sponge applicator and spread it in straight, overlapping strokes across the glass. Allow the short flash time indicated on the packaging, then buff off the light haze with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. Work one panel at a time to avoid the product drying beyond the easy-buff window.
What surfaces can Glaco QAD be used on?
Glaco QAD is formulated for automotive glass - windscreens, side windows, quarter windows and rear glass. Do not apply it to painted surfaces, plastic trim, headlight lenses or mirror housings. It is safe on factory-tinted glass and laminated windscreens.
How long does the coating take to cure?
That is the key advantage of the Q-AD formula. It adheres and dries rapidly, so the glass is ready for light rain contact within minutes of buffing. For best durability, avoid heavy water exposure for a short period after application, but you are not looking at the extended cure windows of harder glass coatings.
How long does the protection last?
Durability depends on driving conditions, how often the wipers run and whether the glass is washed regularly. As a quick-apply maintenance product, Glaco QAD is designed to be re-applied as part of your regular wash routine rather than being a long-term set-and-forget coating. Think of it as keeping your glass in a constantly treated state with minimal effort each time.
Can I use Glaco QAD over an existing glass coating?
Yes. Glaco QAD works well as a maintenance layer over existing hydrophobic glass coatings or sealants. It can refresh a surface that has started to lose its water-repellent performance without requiring a full strip and recoat. If the existing coating is heavily degraded or contaminated, a proper decon and light polish of the glass before reapplying will give better results.
Does it affect wiper blade performance?
Glaco QAD is designed to be compatible with standard rubber wiper blades. The slick, hydrophobic surface can actually improve wiper performance by reducing friction and allowing the blades to glide more cleanly. Make sure any excess product is fully buffed off before running the wipers to avoid streaking.
Do I need to clay or polish the glass before applying?
For a first application or if the glass is contaminated with water spots, mineral deposits or fallout, a clay bar or glass-safe iron fallout remover will give a significantly better bond. On glass that is already clean and regularly maintained, a thorough wash and dry is sufficient before applying Glaco QAD as a top-up step.
How does Glaco QAD fit into a full detail workflow?
It is designed as a post-wash step. Once you have washed, dried and completed any paint correction or protection work, apply Glaco QAD to your glass last. Because it flashes and buffs quickly, it adds only a few minutes to the job. You can apply it in the same session as a wax or sealant on the paintwork without disrupting your workflow.
