Soft99 Glaco Mirror Coat Zero (40ml)

Wet-Weather Clarity

Side mirrors that actually work in the rain

Most water repellents leave water beading on the mirror surface, still obscuring your view. Glaco Mirror Coat Zero's silica crystal technology makes water bounce and sheet off on contact, so you see clearly even in a downpour.

Why Glaco Mirror Coat Zero

Built around visibility, not just water repellency

Four reasons detailers reach for this over generic repellents.

  • True Hydrophobic Repellency

Water bounces off the mirror surface rather than forming droplets that distort your view.

  • Silica Crystal Formula

Microscopic silica crystals bond to the glass to create a durable, uniform repellent barrier.

  • No Buffing, No Residue

Spray-on application cures without any wiping, leaving zero haze or smearing on the mirror.

  • Maintains Optical Clarity

The cured coating is completely clear and does not affect mirror reflectivity or brightness.

Glaco Mirror Coat Zero vs. Generic Repellents

Not all water repellents are the same

Dead-Simple Application

Spray on, cure, done - no buffing required

Unlike paste or liquid sealants that need to be worked in and buffed off, Glaco Mirror Coat Zero is a single aerosol step. Clean mirror, spray evenly, allow to cure - the silica layer bonds on its own and needs no further attention.

Questions

Frequently asked

How do I apply Glaco Mirror Coat Zero?

Clean and dry the mirror surface thoroughly before application. Hold the aerosol can at the recommended distance and spray a thin, even coat across the mirror. Allow the coating to flash and cure fully before exposing it to water. No buffing or wiping is needed after application.

Does it work on surfaces other than side mirrors?

The product is formulated and marketed specifically for exterior side mirrors. While the silica chemistry is similar to other glass sealants, Soft99 recommends it for mirror glass rather than windscreens or windows, where dedicated products like the Glaco Ultra or Glaco Roll On are the better choice.

Is there a curing time I need to allow?

Yes. After spraying, allow the coating to dry and cure fully in a sheltered area before the vehicle is driven or exposed to rain. The exact cure window will depend on ambient temperature and humidity, so check the product packaging for the recommended duration.

How long does the protection last?

Durability depends on wash frequency, weather exposure and the condition of the mirror surface, but the silica layer is designed for long-lasting repellency well beyond a standard spray-on water repellent. Reapply when you notice water no longer sheeting cleanly off the mirror.

How much coverage does one 40ml can provide?

A single 40ml aerosol can treat both side mirrors on multiple vehicles. Because only a thin, uniform layer is needed, the can goes further than the size suggests. Exact coverage will vary depending on mirror size and how evenly you apply.

Can I apply it over an existing sealant or coating on the mirror?

For best adhesion and performance, apply to a freshly decontaminated, bare glass surface. Layering over an old sealant may reduce bonding and shorten durability. A light IPA wipe-down before application is a good habit.

Will it leave a haze or tint on the mirror?

No. Once cured, Glaco Mirror Coat Zero is optically clear and does not affect the reflective quality of the mirror. You should not notice any change in mirror clarity, colour or brightness.

Does the coating require a machine or any special tools?

No machine or applicator pad is required. The aerosol delivers the coating directly in a controlled spray pattern. Clean the surface, shake the can, spray, and cure. It is one of the simplest products in the Glaco range to apply.
