What surfaces can I use the Glaco Glass Compound Roll On on?
It is suitable for exterior automotive glass only - windscreens, side windows and rear windows. Do not use it on painted surfaces, plastic trim, rubber seals or interior glass.
Do I need to use it before every Glaco coating application?
Not necessarily every time, but it is strongly recommended whenever glass has visible water spots, traffic film, oily contamination or the remnants of an old coating. On already-clean, bare glass you may be able to skip this step, but using it ensures the surface is fully decontaminated and that the new coating bonds correctly.
How do I apply it?
Wash and dry the glass thoroughly first. Roll the applicator head directly onto the glass and work in small, overlapping strokes with light to moderate pressure. Once you've covered the section, rinse the glass completely with clean water and dry before applying your chosen glass coating.
Can it remove old Glaco Ultra and other glass coatings?
Yes. The dual-abrasive formula is specifically designed to break down and remove old Glaco Ultra coatings as well as other glass hydrophobic treatments, giving you a fresh, clean base.
Is machine application possible?
No. The product is designed for hand application using the integrated roll-on felt pad. Machine polishing with abrasive pads on glass requires dedicated glass polishing compounds and appropriate machine settings - this roll-on is a hand-use prep tool.
Which glass coatings work well after this compound?
It is formulated to pair directly with the Soft99 Glaco range - including Glaco Ultra, Glaco Roll On and Glaco di Forte - but the clean, decontaminated surface it leaves is equally suitable for other hydrophobic glass sealants and glass ceramic coatings.
Does the felt pad wear out, and can it be replaced?
The integrated felt pad is part of the roll-on head and is not replaceable. With normal use on a handful of windows per application, a single 100ml bottle provides several full treatment sessions before the pad shows significant wear.
Will it improve visibility in rain immediately after use?
On its own, the compound is a prep and cleaning product - it removes contamination but does not add any hydrophobic properties. For water-sheeting and rain repellency, follow up with a dedicated glass coating such as Glaco Ultra or Glaco Roll On after compounding and rinsing.
