Frequently asked
What fabric types can I use this on?
This product is formulated for woven fabric and textile car seat upholstery. It works well on standard cloth seats common to most vehicles. Avoid using it on leather, vinyl, or suede-style Alcantara surfaces, as those materials need their own dedicated cleaners.
What stains can it remove?
The kit is effective on a wide range of common interior stains including coffee, cold drink, food sauces, mud, and general grime. Older, set-in stains may need a second application, but fresh stains typically lift cleanly in a single treatment.
How do I use the Fabric Seat Spot Remover correctly?
Apply a small amount of the cleaning liquid directly to the stained area and work it in gently with a circular motion. Blot with a clean damp cloth to rinse the area. Then press the HPVA sponge firmly over the treated spot and hold it there to absorb the remaining moisture and lifted stain. Repeat if necessary for stubborn marks.
Will it leave a ring or tide mark on the fabric?
When used correctly, particularly the absorption step with the HPVA sponge, it should not leave a tide mark. The sponge is specifically designed to draw the dissolved residue out of the fabric rather than letting it dry and reset at the edges of the treated area. Treat the smallest effective area and absorb fully after rinsing.
How many stains can I treat with one kit?
Soft99 rates each 20ml kit at up to 30 stains at approximately fifty-cent coin size. Larger or heavily saturated stains will use more product per treatment, so your yield may vary depending on the severity of the marks you are dealing with.
Can I use it on the carpet or floor mats?
The product is designed primarily for fabric seat upholstery, but the same fibre type means it can work on woven carpet and cloth floor mats too. Test on an inconspicuous area first if you are unsure of the carpet material, and avoid using it on rubber-backed or non-textile surfaces.
Do I need to condition the fabric after using this?
There is no strict requirement, but if you are doing a thorough interior detail you can follow up with a fabric protector spray once the seat is fully dry. This adds a degree of stain resistance that will make future spot cleaning easier. Allow the seat to dry completely before applying any protector.
Can I use the HPVA sponge with other cleaners?
The HPVA sponge is designed to work with the included Soft99 cleaning liquid for best results. You can rinse and reuse the sponge within the same session, but pair it with compatible, fabric-safe products only. Avoid harsh solvent-based cleaners as these could degrade the sponge material over time.
