Frequently asked
How do I apply Soft99 DiGloss Wheel Tonic 5.0?
Spray the product onto the wheel surface, work it in with a wheel brush or detailing brush to reach into the spokes and barrel, then rinse off thoroughly with a strong stream of water. For best results, apply to a cool wheel out of direct sunlight.
Can I use this on painted or clear-coated wheels?
Yes. DiGloss Wheel Tonic 5.0 is formulated to be safe on painted, lacquered and clear-coated alloy surfaces. Avoid use on bare uncoated carbon fibre wheels or heavily porous finishes without testing on a small area first.
Does it work on chrome or polished alloys?
It can be used on polished alloys and will enhance their gloss, but always test on a small inconspicuous area first. Chrome-plated wheels vary widely in finish quality, so a spot test is recommended before a full application.
Will it remove heavy iron fallout and embedded brake dust?
DiGloss Wheel Tonic 5.0 handles regular brake dust and light to moderate contamination well. For heavily neglected wheels with thick, baked-on fallout, a dedicated iron decon spray applied first will give you a better base before using this product.
How long does the protective layer last?
The protective hydrophobic layer is a maintenance-level coating designed to keep wheels cleaner between washes rather than provide long-term ceramic-grade durability. Expect noticeably easier brake dust removal for several washes after each application.
Can I use this product on tyres or wheel arches?
DiGloss Wheel Tonic 5.0 is designed for wheel faces and barrels. It is not formulated as a tyre dressing and should not be applied to tyre sidewalls or rubber. For arches, a dedicated degreaser or all-purpose cleaner is more appropriate.
Is this safe to use with a pressure washer for rinsing?
Yes. Rinsing with a pressure washer is perfectly fine and is often the quickest way to clear the loosened contamination from the spokes and barrel. Keep a reasonable distance from the wheel surface to avoid any risk to fragile painted finishes.
Can I layer DiGloss Wheel Tonic 5.0 over a ceramic wheel coating?
Yes, it is safe to use as a maintenance wash product over a ceramic-coated wheel. It will clean the surface without stripping a properly cured ceramic layer and can help maintain the hydrophobic properties between top-up applications.
