Frequently asked
How do I apply Black Devil Tyre Wax?
Use one of the included Pitasupo applicator sponges. Work a small, even amount of paste onto the sidewall in overlapping strokes, covering the full tyre face. Allow it to flash until the surface loses its wet look, then buff off any excess with a clean microfibre cloth. One thin coat is usually enough for a solid semi-gloss result.
Does it work on all tyre types?
Yes - the formula is suitable for standard rubber sidewalls on passenger cars, bakkies, SUVs and performance fitments. It is a tyre-specific product and should not be used on plastic trim, wheel faces or painted surfaces.
What kind of finish does it leave?
Semi-gloss black - noticeably darker and richer than bare or faded rubber, but without the reflective, gel-soaked appearance of a high-gloss tyre dressing. If you want the tyre to look freshly fitted rather than dripping in product, this is the finish you are after.
How long does it last between applications?
Durability depends on conditions and wash frequency, but the carnauba wax base gives it more staying power than a water-based tyre dressing. Most users find one application holds through several washes before the sidewall starts to look dull again.
Will it fling off onto my paint or wheels?
The paste wax format significantly reduces fling. Because it sets and bonds to the rubber rather than sitting as a liquid film, the risk of product spinning off onto painted panels or wheel faces is much lower than with gel or spray dressings. Allow it to fully cure on the sidewall before moving the car.
Does the tyre need to be clean before application?
Yes - a clean, decontaminated sidewall is essential. Old dressing residue, brake dust and road grime all prevent the wax from bonding evenly. Scrub the sidewall with a dedicated tyre cleaner and a stiff brush, rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before applying Black Devil.
Can I layer it for a darker finish?
A second thin coat after the first has fully cured will deepen the colour slightly, but the semi-gloss nature of the formula means additional layers will not push it into high-gloss territory. If a mirror-wet look is what you want, this product is not designed for that finish.
What is included in the pack?
Each pack of Soft99 DiGloss Black Devil Tyre Wax comes with two Pitasupo applicator sponges. These are purpose-shaped for tyre sidewalls and sized to give good coverage without wasting product.
