Frequently asked
How do I apply Soft99 Black Magic?
Apply to a freshly cleaned and fully dry tyre using the included applicator sponge. Work the product evenly across the sidewall in overlapping strokes, then allow it to flash before driving. A thin, even coat is more effective than a heavy application, which can cause sling.
Does this work on all tyre types?
Yes. Black Magic is suitable for all rubber tyre profiles - low-profile performance fitments, standard sedans, SUV and bakkie sidewalls, and high-sidewall tyres alike. Avoid applying to the tread area or any surface that contacts the road directly.
Can I use it on trim or rubber seals as well?
While Black Magic is formulated for tyres, it can be applied carefully to exterior rubber trim and seals for a similar darkening and protective effect. Test on a small hidden area first, particularly on light-coloured or painted trim surrounds.
How long does the finish last?
Durability depends on driving conditions, washing frequency, and exposure to weather. Under normal use you can expect a noticeable finish for several weeks. Regular reapplication after each proper wash keeps the depth and protection consistent.
What is the flash time before I can drive?
Allow the product to flash for at least 10 to 15 minutes after application before moving the vehicle. In humid or cold conditions, extend this slightly. Driving immediately after application risks product sling onto the bodywork.
Can I layer it for a deeper finish?
Yes. A second thin coat applied after the first has fully dried will deepen the gloss and extend durability. There is no benefit to more than two coats at a time - additional layers do not add proportionally to the result.
Does it brown or turn grey over time?
Black Magic is formulated to resist the oxidation-related browning that affects many rubber dressings. On a properly decontaminated tyre, the finish should remain deep black rather than going grey or patchy between applications.
Is the tyre coating compatible with ceramic or wax products on the paintwork?
Yes. Black Magic is a standalone tyre-specific product and does not interact with ceramic coatings, waxes, or sealants on adjacent painted surfaces. Take the usual care not to get any dressing onto freshly coated paint, and wipe any overspray immediately with a clean microfibre.
