It is optimised for both rotary and dual-action (DA) polishing machines. It also works well when applied by hand for spot correction or smaller repair areas.
What defects can it actually remove?
The compound effectively eliminates swirl marks, light to moderate scratches, oxidation, water spots and minor paint imperfections. It is not designed for deep, heavy scratches that have broken through the clear coat.
Do I still need a separate finishing polish after using this?
Not in most cases. The self-refining abrasives in Clarifying Compound are engineered to leave a finish clean enough to coat, wax or seal directly. If you are working on very dark paint and need an ultra-refined finish, a light finishing pass with a soft pad can help, but for most correction jobs a single stage is sufficient.
What pad should I pair it with?
For light swirl removal and a refined finish, a medium-cut foam pad works well. For more stubborn oxidation or moderate scratches, step up to a cutting pad. On a rotary, use with care and keep the pad moving to avoid heat build-up.
Is it safe on all paint types, including dark or black paint?
Yes. Clarifying Compound is suitable for all paint colours and standard clear-coat finishes. On dark or black paint, work in a well-lit area so you can monitor the correction and avoid over-working any one spot.
Can I apply a ceramic coating or sealant straight after?
Yes. Once the compound residue is removed and the panel is wiped down with an IPA prep solution, the surface is ready for a ceramic coating, paint sealant or wax. No additional polishing stage is required before sealing.
Is this product safe to use on PPF and vinyl wrap?
Clarifying Compound is formulated for clear-coated paintwork. Use on PPF or vinyl only with caution and test on an inconspicuous area first, as abrasive compounds can affect film texture or gloss depending on the product and wrap type.
How much product should I use per panel?
