What pad sizes does the Nano II accept?
The Nano II is designed to run 50 mm pads. The SmartFix quick-release system means you can swap backing plates and pads in seconds without tools, so switching between a cutting foam and a finishing foam between panels takes no time at all.
When would I use rotary versus the 3 mm versus the 12 mm orbit mode?
Use rotary mode for maximum cut on deeper scratches and heavy swirl marks in confined areas. The 3 mm orbit is ideal for refining after rotary correction or for light compounding on delicate or curved surfaces. The 12 mm orbit gives you the most finish-friendly, swirl-free movement for polishing, glaze application or light defect removal where you want the lowest risk of holograms.
Can I use the Nano II on PPF and vinyl wraps?
Yes. The Nano II's smaller pad size and controllable speed make it well-suited to working over PPF and vinyl, where a large aggressive machine creates too much heat. Stick to the 12 mm orbit mode and a soft finishing pad with a light polish, keep the speed conservative and keep the machine moving to manage heat build-up.
How does the dual-power system work?
The Nano II accepts a 12 V Li-ion battery for fully cordless operation, which is particularly useful when working inside a vehicle or in a mobile detailing setup where power outlets are inconvenient. It also accepts a plug-and-play corded power supply for unlimited runtime in a bay environment. Both options use the same machine body.
What is the SmartFix system and how secure is it?

Is the Nano II suitable for paint correction or just finishing?
It handles both. In rotary mode with an appropriate cutting pad and a medium or heavy compound, the Nano II removes swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation in areas where a full-size machine cannot fit. In 12 mm orbit mode with a finishing pad and a fine polish, it leaves paint gloss-ready. The difference from a full-size machine is working area, not capability.
Does the long neck design affect balance or control?
The long neck is what gives the Nano II access to deep recesses, pillars, door jambs and tight body contours.
