G1 is designed specifically for glass surfaces - windscreens, side windows, and rear glass. It chemically bonds to glass and is not intended for painted panels, trim, or plastic headlight covers.
How do I prepare the glass before applying G1?
Clean the glass thoroughly with Gtechniq G6 Perfect Glass and a glass cloth. For best results, machine polish the glass with a glass polish and a medium pad first, or hand polish with G4 Nanotech Glass Polish using a hand polishing pad. Once polished, clean again with G6 to remove all residue before applying G1.
How many layers of G1 should I apply?
Gtechniq recommends three layers on the windscreen for maximum durability and sheeting performance. For side and rear glass, a single layer is sufficient.
How long does G1 ClearVision last?
G1 is rated to last up to 20,000 miles / 32,000 kilometres under normal driving conditions. Actual longevity depends on how thoroughly the glass was prepped and the conditions the vehicle is exposed to.
