Which polisher are these carbon brushes designed for?
These brushes are made specifically for the ShineMate EP820 rotary polisher. They are OEM parts and are sized and graded for that motor only. Do not assume they will fit other ShineMate models without confirming compatibility first.
How do I know when my EP820's carbon brushes need replacing?
Common signs include visible sparking at the brush contact area, intermittent power loss under load, a noticeable drop in torque during heavy correction passes, or the motor cutting out and restarting on its own. If you see the brushes are worn down to 6 mm or less, replace them before they damage the commutator.
Why do I get 2 brushes in the pack?
The EP820 motor uses two carbon brushes positioned on opposite sides of the commutator. You always replace both at the same time so they wear evenly and the motor runs in balance. A single worn brush causes uneven contact and can accelerate commutator damage.
Is this a difficult repair to do myself?
