Which buckets does this lid fit?
The Work Stuff Bucket Lid is designed for standard 20-litre detailing buckets and is compatible with most buckets of that capacity. It is specifically designed for the Work Stuff 20L bucket, but the fixed ring should fit most buckets with a standard 20L rim diameter. If you are unsure, check the rim diameter of your bucket against the lid's fixed ring before purchasing.
How does the two-piece closure work?
The system has two parts: a fixed ring that you attach permanently to the bucket's rim edge, and a screw-on cover that threads onto that ring. Once the fixed ring is in place, you simply screw the cover on and off as needed. The lid does not need to be removed from the bucket between uses - only the cover does.
What material is the lid made from?
The Bucket Lid is made from HDPE (high-density polyethylene), a hard-wearing, chemical-resistant plastic commonly used in detailing and industrial applications. It handles contact with car shampoos, degreasers and other detailing chemicals without degrading or warping.
Will it prevent all spills if the bucket tips over?
The screw-on cover significantly reduces spills and is designed to keep water inside during normal handling and transport. Like any lid under enough force, it is not guaranteed to be completely watertight if the bucket is knocked over at a steep angle with a full load of water, but for moving the bucket between panels or loading it into a vehicle, it does the job well.
Can I use this lid on a Grit Guard bucket?
The lid is compatible with most standard 20L detailing buckets. Grit Guard inserts sit inside the bucket and do not affect the rim, so the lid should be usable alongside a Grit Guard without any issues. The insert remains inside the bucket independently of the lid.
Does the fixed ring damage the bucket rim when attached?
The fixed ring is designed to attach securely to the bucket's edge without causing damage to the bucket itself. It clamps or snaps into position on the rim. Normal use should not deform or crack a standard 20L HDPE bucket rim.
Can I use this to store pre-mixed chemical solutions?
Yes. Because HDPE is chemical-resistant, the lid is safe to use when storing pre-mixed shampoo solutions or rinse water in your bucket between details. Just make sure the cover is screwed on tightly and store the bucket upright to minimise any seepage around the seal.
Is the lid sold as part of a bundle or on its own?
