What machine and pad combination should I start with?
Start by assessing the defect level. For heavy swirls, deep scratches or P1500 sanding marks, pair Speed Polish with the grey (hard) thermo pad. For moderate correction around P2000 equivalents, use the white (medium) pad. For fine finishing from P3000 and beyond, the bordeaux (soft) pad is the right choice. Speed Polish works on both rotary and dual-action machines - the pad does the work of adjusting cut level, so the product stays the same throughout.
Is Speed Polish safe on all paint types, including soft European clears?
Yes. Because the cut is controlled by pad hardness rather than an aggressive abrasive load in the product itself, you can dial back aggression on softer paints by selecting a softer pad. Use the bordeaux pad on sensitive or thermally-sensitive clears and work at a moderate speed to keep heat in check. The thermo-stable foam structure of the pads is specifically engineered to resist heat build-up that would otherwise compress and harden a standard foam pad.
Does Speed Polish leave any oils or fillers that would interfere with a ceramic coating?
No. Zvizzer Speed Polish is formulated to leave a clean, coating-ready surface. There are no silicone fillers or masking oils in the formula, so you do not need an IPA wipedown between polishing and applying a ceramic coating or PPF. That said, always inspect the surface under a paint inspection light before coating to confirm full correction.
Can I use Speed Polish by hand or does it require a machine?
Speed Polish is designed as a machine polish. For meaningful correction it needs the heat and pressure cycling of a rotary or DA polisher paired with the appropriate thermo pad. Hand application will deposit the protective elements but will not generate the mechanical action needed for swirl removal or defect correction.
How long is the flash time and when is the product ready to wipe off?
Speed Polish breaks down with machine action rather than air-drying like a traditional compound. Work a manageable section - typically 40x40cm - until the product works clear. Once the residue is transparent and the machine action has refined the finish, remove with a clean microfibre cloth. There is no extended flash or cure time required for the polish itself.
How much product covers a full vehicle?
Product consumption depends on the defect level, pad type and panel size, but the 750ml bottle is designed for multiple full-vehicle corrections. Heavy correction passes with the grey pad will use more product per section than a light finishing pass on the bordeaux pad. For a standard sedan with moderate swirl correction, expect the 750ml to cover several vehicles comfortably.
Can I use Speed Polish after wet sanding?
Yes. Pair Speed Polish with the grey (hard) thermo pad to refine P1500 sanding marks, then step down to the white pad if further refinement is needed, and finish with the bordeaux pad. Because all three passes use the same product, there is no need to switch polishes between stages - only the pad changes.
What protection does Speed Polish actually leave, and how long does it last?
Speed Polish deposits a protective layer in the same pass as the correction and gloss stages. The protection adds a degree of hydrophobic behaviour and surface gloss retention. It is not a substitute for a dedicated ceramic coating or long-term sealant on a daily driver, but for show preparation, paint shop turnaround or enthusiast maintenance it provides meaningful protection as part of the one-step process. Exact durability will vary with wash frequency and exposure conditions.
