How do I apply the wax correctly?
Wash and decontaminate the vehicle first. Apply a thin, even layer of wax to one panel at a time using a foam applicator pad, working in straight lines or gentle circular motions. Allow the wax to flash to a haze, then buff off with a clean, soft microfibre cloth. Work in the shade on a cool panel.
Can I use this wax on a machine polisher?
Soft99 Pearl & Metallic Wax is a paste wax intended for hand application. It is not formulated as a machine-applied finishing wax. For best results, use a foam applicator pad by hand.
How long does the protection last?
The wax provides up to 2 months of durable protection under normal driving conditions. Longevity depends on exposure to the elements, washing frequency and the condition of the paint beneath.
How many applications does one 320g tin give?
Approximately 20 full-car applications per container, based on average-sized vehicles and a recommended thin coat. Applying thicker coats than necessary does not improve protection and reduces the number of applications you get from the tin.
Can I layer this wax or use it over a sealant?
Yes, you can layer additional coats of Pearl & Metallic Wax to build gloss and protection. It can also be applied over a compatible paint sealant as a topping wax to add warmth and depth to the finish. Allow each layer to cure fully before adding another.
Is this wax suitable to use after paint correction?
Pearl & Metallic Wax is a protection and finishing product, not a corrective compound, so it won't remove swirl marks or scratches on its own. It is a good choice as a final protection step after correction to lock in the results and add gloss.
Can I apply this wax on trim, glass or plastic?
This product is formulated for painted body panels. Avoid applying it to unpainted plastic trim, as wax can leave a white residue that is difficult to remove from textured surfaces. On glass it will provide some water beading but a dedicated glass sealant will perform better and last longer.
