Flex Brushless 6 Inch Orbital Polisher XFE 2 15 14-EC C Flex .

Brushless Precision

Constant speed. Consistent cut. Every pass.

The XFE 2-15-14-EC C's brushless motor and tachogenerator electronics keep the spindle at your chosen speed regardless of pad pressure, so compound bites evenly from the first pass to the last. The flat gear head and 2.3 kg balance mean you're guiding the machine, not fighting it.

Why the Flex XFE

Professional tools deliver professional results.

Four reasons the XFE 2-15-14-EC C earns its place in a working detailer's kit.

  • Brushless Motor

Higher efficiency and longer service life than carbon-brush designs, with consistent power delivery throughout the correction session.

  • Load-Locked Speed

Tachogenerator electronics maintain your set RPM under pad pressure, so correction is even and repeatable across the entire panel.

  • Low Vibration Design

The high-performance gearbox keeps vibration at 3.1 m/s² and sound pressure at 75 dB(A), reducing fatigue on long correction days.

  • Hologram Removal

A 15 mm orbit on a 150 mm plate eliminates holograms and light scratches, with maximum gloss in the Flex 2-step system.

How It Compares

Flex XFE vs a typical budget orbital polisher.

Budget orbitals can do a job, but they cut corners where it matters most in professional correction. Here's where the XFE 2-15-14-EC C is genuinely different - and where both machines share common ground.

Built for Long Sessions

Engineered to last through a full correction day.

Temperature monitoring, overload protection and a high-performance gearbox designed for low vibration (3.1 m/s²) mean this machine is built for professional use - not occasional weekend polishing. The 6 m PUR cable and rubberised resting bar are small details that add up across a full day on the pad.

Questions

Frequently asked

What orbit size does the XFE 2-15-14-EC C use?

The machine runs a 15 mm polishing stroke. That falls in the sweet spot for paint correction - aggressive enough to cut through swirl marks and holograms, but controlled enough that a skilled operator can refine to a gloss-ready finish without a separate DA finishing step on most paints.

What pad and backing plate size does this polisher take?

The maximum support plate and polishing disc size is 150 mm. Standard 150 mm (6 inch) foam and microfibre correction and finishing pads fit directly. Flex recommends their own 150 mm pad range, including the black finishing sponge in the 2-step system.

How does the tachogenerator-controlled constant speed work in practice?

The microprocessor reads actual spindle speed via the tachogenerator and adjusts motor power to maintain your selected RPM regardless of how much pad-to-paint pressure you apply. In practice it means your compound cuts at the same rate at the start of a panel as it does midway through - no slowdown, no inconsistent correction.

What protection features does the electronics system include?

The microprocessor package covers overload protection (cuts power before the motor burns out under sustained heavy load), re-start protection (the machine won't power back on at full speed after a power interruption), and temperature monitoring that watches motor and electronics temps during long correction sessions.

Is the XFE 2-15-14-EC C safe to use on soft paint and single-stage paint?

Yes. The stepless speed wheel lets you dial from 1350 rpm right up to 4350 rpm, and the soft-start trigger gives a gradual ramp-up rather than a full-speed lurch. Run it at lower speeds with a light finishing pad and polish for delicate single-stage paint, and step up speed and pad aggressiveness for harder clearcoats that need heavier correction.

How does the lock-on trigger work and is it easy to disengage?

The continuous speed control trigger has two positions: squeeze for variable speed, then push forward to lock it on for extended operation without holding the trigger. To disengage, simply squeeze the trigger again and release - it disengages immediately. This is useful on bonnets and roofs where you're working large sections and don't want hand fatigue from sustained trigger pressure.

What is the cable length and type, and why does it matter for detailing use?

The cable is 6 metres long and made from PUR (polyurethane rubber). PUR cable is oil-resistant, flexible in cold conditions and more abrasion-resistant than standard PVC cable - important in a workshop environment where the cable drags across floors and vehicle panels. Six metres gives enough reach to work most vehicles from a single power point without an extension lead.

Can this machine be used for ceramic coating or PPF prep, or is it purely for correction?

The XFE 2-15-14-EC C is designed for polishing - correction and finishing. It is the right tool for paint correction ahead of a ceramic coating or PPF installation. For coating application itself you would not typically run a machine; most ceramics are applied by hand or with a dedicated applicator. Use this polisher to deliver a fully corrected, refined surface before you apply your coating or film.
