Compressor-Ready Foam
Dense pre-wash foam straight from your air line
The BenBow 013 Classic turns your workshop compressor into a proper foam cannon, pushing out a thick, dry foam that clings to panels and gives your pre-wash chemistry the dwell time it needs to loosen dirt before a mitt ever touches the paint.
Why the 013 Classic
Foam that actually works
Four reasons professional detailers reach for a pneumatic gun.
-
Cling-Heavy Foam
The nozzle produces a dense, dry foam that stays on vertical panels through the full dwell cycle.
-
Compressor Powered
Connects via a standard 1/4" male fitting and operates at 6.2 bar - no pressure washer required.
-
Corrosion-Resistant Body
Aluminium and stainless steel construction handles chemical exposure and daily workshop use.
-
1000 ml Tank
A full litre of product per fill means you can cover multiple vehicles without stopping to refill.
Pneumatic vs Basic Foam Gun
How the 013 Classic stacks up
Pressure-washer foam attachments are common and affordable, but they are not always the right tool. Here is how a dedicated pneumatic gun compares to a typical entry-level pressure-washer foam lance.
| Feature | DetailerSA | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Works without a pressure washer | Yes | No |
| Produces dense, dry clinging foam | Yes | No |
| Aluminium and stainless steel body | Yes | No |
| Standard 1/4" air fitting compatibility | Yes | Yes |
| Suitable for cars, boats and motorcycles | Yes | Yes |
| Requires a compressor to operate | Yes | No |
Built to Last
Aluminium and stainless steel, made for the workshop
At 900 g with a full aluminium and stainless steel build, the 013 Classic is designed to take the daily punishment of a busy detailing bay - resistant to the chemicals and moisture that kill plastic guns far sooner.

Questions
Frequently asked
What type of air supply does this foam gun need?
The 013 Classic connects to a standard compressed air line via a 1/4" male fitting. It requires a working pressure of 6.2 bar and an air consumption of 160 l/min, so a mid-range workshop compressor with a decent tank will handle it comfortably. It does not connect to a pressure washer.
What detergents or snow foams can I use in it?
Any pH-balanced pre-wash, snow foam or car shampoo that is designed to foam is compatible. Avoid very thick gel-type products that may block the nozzle. Always rinse the tank and gun through with clean water after each session to prevent residue build-up.
How do I adjust the foam thickness and concentration?
Mix your detergent in the 1000 ml tank at the dilution ratio recommended by the product manufacturer. The nozzle controls output pattern and, on most BenBow pneumatic guns, there is an adjustment on the air/liquid ratio that lets you dial the foam from wetter to drier. A drier foam clings longer on vertical surfaces.
Is it safe to use on ceramic-coated or PPF-covered paint?
Yes. The foam gun itself delivers no mechanical contact, so it is completely safe on ceramic coatings, PPF and wrapped surfaces. Choose a pre-wash that is compatible with coatings (typically pH-neutral) and the gun will not affect any protection layer underneath.
How long should I let the foam dwell before rinsing?
Dwell time depends on your chosen pre-wash product - follow its instructions. As a general guide, two to five minutes on a shaded panel is typical. The dense, dry foam the 013 Classic produces helps the product stay wet on vertical surfaces for the full dwell period before you rinse.
Can I use it for fallout or iron decon products?
Technically the gun can dispense most liquid chemical decon products, but check the product's material compatibility first. Some aggressive fallout removers contain compounds that can degrade seals over time. Thorough rinsing of the tank and internals immediately after use is essential with any reactive chemistry.
How do I clean and maintain the foam gun after use?
Empty any remaining product from the 1000 ml tank, fill it halfway with clean water and run it through the gun until the output runs clear. This flushes the nozzle and internal passages. Periodically check the 1/4" connection and any O-rings for wear, and store the gun with the tank empty to prevent detergent from drying inside.
What vehicles and surfaces can I use it on?
The gun is suited to cars, bakkies, motorcycles, boats and any large surface you want to pre-soak with foam before washing. It works on paint, glass, wheels and plastic trim, and the contact-free application means there is no risk of introducing swirl marks during the foam stage of your wash process.
