Product Description
Frequently asked
What wheel surfaces is Wheel Dust Blocker compatible with?
It works on alloy, chrome, and factory-painted or clear-coated wheels. Avoid applying to bare unfinished metal or wheels with peeling lacquer, as adhesion will be uneven and the coating won't perform as intended.
How do I apply Wheel Dust Blocker?
Start with a freshly washed and fully deconned wheel - iron fallout remover first, then a thorough rinse and dry. Spray the product directly onto the wheel surface, spread evenly with a clean applicator or microfibre cloth, allow it to flash (the surface will take on a light haze), then buff off the residue with a clean microfibre. Work one wheel at a time so the product doesn't over-cure before you buff.
What is the flash time before buffing?
Flash time is typically short - around 2 to 5 minutes depending on ambient temperature. In warmer conditions the product hazes faster, so work in the shade where possible and tackle one wheel at a time to stay ahead of it.
How long does the protection last?
Durability depends on how often you wash your wheels and how aggressively you clean them. Under normal maintenance washing conditions, expect to reapply every 4 to 6 weeks, or any time you notice the beading and slickness have noticeably reduced. It's a maintenance coating rather than a long-term ceramic, so regular reapplication is part of the routine.
Do I need to remove iron fallout before applying?
Yes - and this step matters more on wheels than almost anywhere else on the car. Brake dust embeds iron particles into the wheel surface constantly. If you coat over that contamination, adhesion is compromised and you'll get patchy, short-lived results. Use an iron fallout remover (the purple bleed reaction tells you it's working), rinse thoroughly, then dry before applying Wheel Dust Blocker.
Can I apply it with a machine polisher or is it hand-application only?
Hand application is all you need. Spray onto the wheel and spread with a microfibre applicator or cloth. No DA, no polishing pad required. This is a coating step, not a correction step.
Can I layer Wheel Dust Blocker over a ceramic wheel coating?
It's best used as a standalone wheel coating or as a top-up product on its own. If you already have a dedicated ceramic wheel coating in good condition, adding Wheel Dust Blocker on top may not bond properly and could reduce the performance of both products. Use it on bare, clean wheels for the best result.
Will it affect the look of my wheels?
Yes, in a good way. After buffing, wheels show noticeably more gloss and a slick feel. It doesn't add a thick or artificial-looking coating - the finish reads as a natural, clean gloss that makes the wheel colour and finish pop without looking overdone.
