Product Description
Frequently asked
What surfaces can I use this on?
It is designed for rubber seals, EPDM window surrounds, unpainted plastic bumpers, exterior plastic cladding, trim strips and mouldings. Avoid using it on painted surfaces, glass, or interior plastics not rated for solvent-based products.
How do I apply it correctly?
Work on a clean, dry surface. Apply a small, even amount to a foam applicator or microfibre pad and work it into the trim using overlapping strokes. Allow it to absorb for a few minutes, then wipe away any excess with a clean cloth before it dries on surrounding paint or glass.
Do I need to decontaminate the trim before applying?
Yes - for best results clean the trim thoroughly first. Remove any existing dressings, silicone residue or grease with an APC or IPA wipe-down. The product penetrates better and lasts longer on a properly prepped, porous surface than on a contaminated one.
How long does it take to cure?
Initial absorption takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on temperature and porosity. Wipe off excess after that window. Full water resistance develops within a couple of hours of dry time, so avoid washing the car immediately after application.
How long does the restoration last?
Durability depends on the condition of the trim and how much UV and weather exposure it gets. On well-prepped trim you can expect a few months of colour retention and protection. A maintenance coat every few months keeps the finish looking fresh.
Will it leave an oily or greasy residue on the trim?
No. Once fully absorbed and any excess is wiped away, the finish is a natural satin rather than a high-gloss or wet look. It should not sling onto paint or glass during driving if applied and buffed correctly.
Can I apply this over an existing ceramic or sealant coating?
This product is designed for bare or lightly dressed rubber and plastic. If your trim already has a ceramic or polymer coating on it, adhesion will be compromised. Strip the existing coating first with an appropriate coating remover or IPA before applying.
Is it safe to use near painted panels?
Apply carefully and avoid getting the product on paint. If it does transfer, wipe it off promptly with a damp microfibre. Masking adjacent painted edges with tape is good practice on tight areas like door frames where rubber seals sit close to the paintwork.
