Frequently asked
What surfaces is Cloth Barrier compatible with?
It is formulated specifically for cloth and fabric upholstery - car seats, headrests, and fabric door panels. It is not intended for leather, alcantara, or hard plastic surfaces.
How do I apply Cloth Barrier correctly?
Start with thoroughly cleaned and completely dry fabric. Spray evenly across the surface from roughly 20-30 cm away, working in thin, overlapping passes. Do not saturate the fabric. Allow it to dry and cure fully before sitting on the seats.
How long does it take to cure?
Allow the treated seats to cure undisturbed for at least a few hours in a well-ventilated space. Full cure and maximum hydrophobic performance is typically reached after 24 hours. Avoid contact with moisture during this window.
How long does the protection last?
Durability depends on usage and how frequently the seats are cleaned. Under normal daily-driver conditions, you can expect meaningful hydrophobic protection for several months. Reapplication after a thorough fabric clean will restore performance.
Will it change the look or feel of my seats?
No. The Fusso fluoropolymer works at fibre level and remains invisible once cured. There is no change to the fabric's colour, sheen, or texture - the seats look and feel exactly the same, they just repel liquids.
Is it safe on light-coloured or cream fabric interiors?
Yes. Cloth Barrier is colourless and leaves no residue or staining, making it safe on all fabric colours including white, cream, and beige interiors where discolouration from a protector would be immediately obvious.
Can I apply it over a fabric that has already been treated with another protector?
For best results, deep-clean the fabric first to remove any old protector residue and surface contaminants. Applying Cloth Barrier to a clean, bare fabric surface gives the fluoropolymer the best chance to bond properly at fibre level.
Can Cloth Barrier be layered for more durability?
A second thin coat applied after the first has fully cured can improve durability. Allow each layer to dry completely before adding another, and avoid over-saturating the fabric - thin, even coats consistently outperform heavy, single applications.
